There are hand warmers on the chest and large square pockets on the waist. Can be worn with the collar turned up on cold days.
The outer material is made of heavy melton, which is produced in Bishu using a technology that regenerates wool products that has been used for more than half a century. The buttons on the front are wood buttons with a lacquer coating called ``Shunkei lacquer'' from Hida Takayama, and the belt buckle also uses a wood ring with a lacquer coating of ``Shunkei lacquer.''
