Misalignment
Good evening. This is Ikeda.
I hadn't been able to go shopping for clothes much since I was going to exhibitions until last month, so last week I went shopping at a friend's second-hand clothing store for the first time in a while.
I was looking at Instagram and saw two print T-shirts that I wanted, so I was just going to collect them, but I found another print T-shirt that was better, so I ended up buying three.
Printed T-shirts start appearing in stores around this time, so when I see them I end up buying several of them every year.
In particular, I tend to pay attention to T-shirts with Disney-related or playful prints.
I'm also old enough to be considered an adult, so I wonder if people will think I'm out of line if I wear a printed T-shirt like that.
I don't care if it's out of place, but I don't like it if people look at me strangely.
I don't care if I'm being watched, and I don't think I'll notice in the first place.
I am aware that there is some deviation.
Today, I would like to introduce you to Yamauchi's cotton voile striped shirt, telling you that even if it is off, it doesn't mean you are strange, scary, or lacking in common sense.
A well-balanced piece that will shift but not feel out of place.
The first thing to mention is the sleeve design.
The front sleeves are a normal set-in, the back sleeves are dropped, and the sleeves are shifted in the front and back.
Because this gap looks like a Z, Yamauchi named it Z-sleeve.
Am I the only one who gets a little boyish feeling when I hear the word Z?
If it was just me, I'd be off again.
By shifting the front and back sleeves like this, when viewed from the front, it gives the impression of a regular shirt, but when viewed from the back, it gives a relaxed and casual feel.
If the front sleeves were also dropped, it would have a more casual look, but this is Yamauchi's style and the design avoids that.
I think that using an irregular pattern may give an impression of being off-centered in terms of design, but I think a balance has been struck to avoid any sense of out-of-alignment.
In addition, the dropped back sleeves create extra space on the shoulders for added ease of movement.
Furthermore, it is designed without a yoke, making it comfortable to wear.
A good way to contribute not only to design but also functionality.
The fabric used is 100% cotton dyed voile striped fabric.
Because the fabric is made of highly twisted yarn with no fuzz, you will feel that it is dry to the touch and has a crisp texture.
It's a 100% cotton fabric that is similar to linen.
Therefore, although it has long sleeves, I think it is easy to wear even when the temperature gets a little high.
The fabric is also processed by passing water through it to shrink it and maintain it in that state.
The uneven texture created by doing so gives it a unique feel.
I don't know if this is the correct expression, but it gave me the impression of sand.
I feel like I can't help but think of Alabasta, which is currently in danger.
The fit is finished with a loose silhouette with a slightly longer hem.
I wanted it to be loose-fitting, so I only selected size 4.
Does it make you want to throw it on without fastening the buttons?
And there is only one color, beige.
It's a beige stripe, but since it's a very fine stripe, it doesn't really make a statement and you might find it difficult to match.
It's a light beige color, so I don't think it will bother you when matching it.
Lately, I feel like I've been hearing a lot of news about people who are out of touch with society, but I think this is a reminder to myself that I shouldn't do things like that.
Even if the design is off-kilter, the balance will never be off, so be sure to try Yamauchi's cotton voile striped shirt.
